Basement Hockey - The Plan
As of today, I am presenting the material that will enable you to make your own Basement Hockey practice training equipment. The material will cover the plastic shooting surface, an industrial grade mini net, an industrial grade back net, a hockey net, a shooter tutor and a baseball pitching net. This is Basement Hockey’s gift to all the kids and parents across the country who would like to have a hockey training area in their home that they can configure to their needs and build according to their means and alter to suit the age of their sports minded children. All materials are available at your local hardware stores. You just have to do some digging yourself to find that store that has what you need. You should be able to identify all of those practice items in the two photos that follow.
The plastic surface is a 4 foot by 8 foot sheet of plastic about 1/8 inch thick. It is called “puck board” and is used for a material on boats and on the boards in a hockey arena. The puck board is made by Vicwest and called Plastavic in Canada. The red paint is plastic paint available at hardware stores.
The dimension lines are 1 foot apart measuring from the 52.2 cm end. There are two sheets shown end to end. Only part of the curved line is on the second sheet.
You can transport the puck board sheet in your car by rolling it up and firmly tying it. It will spring out and flatten out when you lay it on the floor.
