You may wish to review some of the most commonly asked questions we get:

Question: Why did you decide to write this book?
Answer: This book is dedicated to all who play pickup hockey and, who given enough time, energy and help could easily write a book like this one. As you read this collection of pickup hockey memories and anecdotes, you may think, “been there, done that.” Our experiences are almost national if not universal. My wife asked me the same question. I told her,  “I just got this inspiration to write a book and share my feelings and attitude about Pick Up Hockey.” It took 5 years to write the book.

Question: How long have you been playing?
Answer: More than 30 years and I know players who have played over 50 years. Wow!

Question: What’s the deal with this “code” you talk about?
Answer: We should have a Pickup Hockey Code in Canada. “If you live by it, you come to the rink without a chip on your shoulder. You always show up for the games …..etc.” Think about it. We think that we know the Canadian Amateur Hockey Rules; but do we? Sometimes we make up rules for our games like “No Slap Shots/” But it is more than that. It is about our attitude. We really do have a code that we follow. It starts with the deep down admission to ourselves that “We missed our opportunity to play in the NHL and we are not going to make it now.” So, let’s get on with playing the game we love; for fun, for fun with the guys.
